You can bring your own equipment or rent from the surf club or one of the cafes in the square. Kitesurfing lessons can be arranged in the village or on the beach outside Essaouira. As you can see from the photos, conditions vary from “millpond” to “experts only” so usually everyone is happy
For the surfing there is good body boarding all along the beach and a couple of quality reef breaks within walking distance of Kasbah d’Eau. Then there is the famous Cap Sim point break 10 minutes away by 4×4 – this is one of Morocco’s best waves and you can see the waves peeling down the point.
We have a pool table and subterranean gym. If you want more fresh air then head a few minutes to our sister property, Rebali for tennis or table tennis

Kasbah d'Eau is in the village of Sidi Kaouki, 10 miles (16km) south of Essaouira, one of the prettiest towns in Morocco, with its ramparts and medina full of traditional shops, great bars and wonderful restaurants. The beach is the main attraction with surfing, windsurfing and kitesurfing for the adrenalin junkies, horseback and camel rides to explore the area, and quadbike tours to get into the dunes and down the coast. It is also a place beloved by runners and walkers - the immediate beach is 1.5 miles (2.5km) in length and then miles more beyond that - even at the busiest times finding calm and solitude is never an issue. Essaouira is a 25-minute taxi ride away (around £10/€12 each way) and it is easy to pop in for an afternoon shopping in the medina, or an evening in one of the wonderful restaurants. Essaouira's international airport is 15 minutes away, and Marrakech is 3 hours by taxi (or bus from Essaouira) for connections all over the world.
